Skull in the Garden

The Missouri Botanical Garden has a special exhibit of sculpture by Niki de Saint Phalle. The mosaic sculptures are made in a rainbow of colors and materials from fiberglass, stones, glass, mirrors, and semi-precious materials. This was a giant skull sitting on the grass. We all thought this would be pretty cool to have in our front yard. (Click skull to view full size.)

P.S. Yes, there are people sitting inside the skull. You can see their legs through its teeth.

Laclede's Landing in St. Louis

This is looking west on Morgan Street near the intersection with First Street. It was almost dark. Laclede's Landing is one of the last places where you can get an idea of what the warehouse district of St. Louis looked like over 100 years ago. It's a business area now, primarily populated with shops, bars and restaurants. Oh yeah, and a brand new casino. (Click the photo to view full size.)

More Molly Brown Front Porch

Don't know why, but I keep thinking about Molly Brown's front porch. So here's a few more shots. If it were my house, I'd invite you over to sit in the swing, play some music, and shoot the breeze. (Click a shot to view full size.)

Molly Brown's Front Porch

We took a tour of the Molly Brown house in Denver, Colorado a couple of years ago. They don't allow photos of the inside of the house, so I took some of the outside. This is Molly's front porch. You might also want to check out a shot of the front porch of Molly's first home in Hannibal, Missouri. (Click on the photo to view a larger image.)
